Air Canada Foundation
We are thrilled to have the support of Canada’s largest airline through its charitable organization, the Air Canada Foundation. The foundation’s creation in 2012 marked a new chapter in Air Canada’s dedication to the health and wellness of children and youth.
In addition to supporting Beyond Borders ECPAT Canada’s work through flight donations, the Air Canada Foundation is also the title sponsor for our annual Media Awards & Educational Symposium.
The airline has demonstrated its commitment to combating child sex tourism and exploitation by supporting the creation of public awareness videos for its in-flight entertainment system. Air Canada was the first airline in Canada and the second in North America to air on-board videos denouncing child sexual exploitation. The new videos created by Beyond Borders ECPAT with the support of the Air Canada Foundation were launched on Air Canada’s in-flight entertainment system in February 2014. They educate the flying public about the great harm experienced by children though sex tourism, sex trafficking and sexual abuse images (child pornography), and encourage reporting of these horrific crimes.
